Welcome to my Blog

I have created this blog to document a school project, and I will observe the school district`s Acceptable Use Policy for electronic media.

I am going to produce a product that will be a finalized 3D printed lacrosse head. It will only be a prototype of what an injection molded head would look like. This project will represent my career goals by allowing me to produce a product much like the ones I could produce in 3D modeling.

Meeting with my facilitator after the final model was printed.

Here we met when the final model was printed out and it was washed in the acid bath to get the small support filaments out. It is more than double the size of the first print. the curves and features show through much better. It shows in greater detail the improvements as well that I created with the supports on the side. I met with my facilitator again when the first model was printed.

Here it shows Mr. Mann and I look at the model I produced and the printed out one. This is the first that was printed and is a lot smaller than the second. It was a test to see whether or not it would print out properly. It printed out without any issues at all. It was washed in an acid tub to get rid of the softer support filaments that filled the gaps of the harder polymer. February 8th, 2018 2:00-2:35

3D modeling of my head.

On December 22nd from 8:00- 2:45 I worked with the help of my facilitator to 3D model my head design in a CAD program called Inventor. While working and eventually printing that day I hit a few road blocks. Other than that the modeling went smoothly. My facilitator helped me a few times to get past the minor roadblocks that I faced. The top picture is of my facilitator and I meeting right before I began the 3D modeling to look over the final sketch.
